My wife and I were on our honeymoon when we arrived in Paris, having taken the Chunnel train from London’s Victoria Station earlier in the day.

Our first full day was cloudy and windy. We walked from our hotel in the 1e arrondisement a short distance to the Louvre’s I.M. Pei designed class pyramid entrance. The museum was closed and only a few people (including us) were walking about the plaza.

Later, we strolled all the way down the Champs Elysees to the Arc de Triomphe. Tired and with dust covering our shoes, we ended up having a delightful but late dinner at Fouquette’s before snagging a taxi back to our hotel.
